Animated pictures (GIF Files) are moving pictures, you can see the animated picture at HERE. Many of us saw the animated pictures in our friends albums but when we are trying to upload animated pictures (GIF files), facebook convert the upload pictures into static pictures (JPG format). So how our friends upload that animated pictures ?
There is no way to upload the animated pictures, those who upload the animated picture were very lucky because the upload at that time when facebook was in glitch state with photo gallery.
The glitch in Facebook that was allowing animated gifs through was fixed, and the majority (but not all) of animated gifs which were uploaded were deactivated. If you find working animated gifs, you will see that they were uploaded in that brief window of time, either on May 13 or 14, 2010. Facebook definitely doesn't want to clutter up their pages with animated gifs, My Space style (though doesn't have a problem with all of the applications on the site).
